Online training course - Safe Working at Heights

The 'Safe Working at Heights' training course looks at issues of working at height. For people who work at height, significant injuries can result from fall related incidents.

This 'Safe Working at Heights' training course encourages the adoption of safe practices whilst working at height and provides instruction in the correct use of access and safety equipment. Note, the course does not provide detailed training on scaffolding erection.

  • Introduction
    Considers the main requirements of the Work at Height Regulations 2005.
  • Ladders, Step Ladders and Trestles
    Illustrates the correct way to use ladders, stepladders & trestle platforms and highlights the dangers of their misuse.
  • General Access Scaffolds
    The basic essentials for safe work on scaffolds are explained.
  • Tower Scaffolds
    Because tower scaffolds are light and easily overturned they are involved in numerous accidents each year. This module shows how to use a tower scaffold safely.
  • Mobile and Suspended Access Equipment
    Illustrates the safe use of MEWPs, temporary cradles, mast platforms, boatswains chairs and rope access equipment.
  • Roof Work
    Stresses the dangers of working on fragile roof surfaces. Roof ladders, guard railed platforms and safety harnesses are fully illustrated.
  • Falling Objects
    A brief guide to practical measures to prevent objects and materials falling from working platforms.
  • Information & Training
    Considers the requirements of the regulations regarding the provision of information and training for employees.
  • Inspection
    Explains the requirements for daily checks of places of work and weekly inspections of work equipment.
  • Self Test
    20 questions covering each of the previous modules. A certificate is offered if the test is passed.

The 'Safe Working at Heights' training course takes approximately 80 minutes to complete. You are purchasing one copy of this course, with one attempt at the test at the end.

Self Assessment

The course contains an interactive self assessment with mutiple choice questions to test your understanding of the contents of the course. On successful completion of the test, you will receive a downloadable certificate of competency which you may print.

When you purchase a course - you are buying one copy of the course which contains tutorial material and a test. The test has a passmark of 75%, and you get one go at the test. If you fail it, you must buy another copy and have another go.
