Online training course - Chemical Safety
This 'Chemical Safety' course describes the nature and properties of chemicals, as well as the chemical safe working practices that should be adopted for chemical storage and chemical handling. Basic first aid is also covered.

- Why Chemical Safety?
Explains why chemicals can be hazardous and introduces the COSHH regulations. - Chemical Hazards
Describes different types of chemical hazards, illustrates the different symbols used to represent chemical hazards and introduces the CHIP regulations. - Chemicals in the Atmosphere
Considers the inhalation risks of chemical substances and introduces the Workplace Exposure Limit (WEL). - Safe Working and Handling
Considers the methods used to reduce risks when using hazardous substances and gives guidance on the safe storage of hazardous chemicals. - Basic First Aid
Provides simple advice to anyone with no medical knowledge, giving them instructions for emergency action before expert help arrives. It covers chemical burns to skin and eyes, poisoning as well as exposure to toxic fumes. - Self Test
There are 20 questions covering each of the previous modules. A certificate is offered if the test is passed.
